How To Play Crazy Eights
Be the first to get rid of all your cards.
The deal
You and the computer each get seven cards. One card is turned up to start the discard pile; the rest form the stock you draw from.
On your turn
Play one card that matches the top of the discard pile by rank or by suit. For example, on a 7♥ you may play any 7 or any ♥.
- Your playable cards are lifted — just tap one to play it.
- If you can't (or don't want to) play, draw a card from the stock, then play it or pass.
Wild cards
Every 8 and every Joker is wild. Play one on any card, then name the next suit from the picker. The suit chip beside the discard always shows which suit is in force.
Winning & scoring
Empty your hand to win the hand and score the value of the cards left in your opponent's hand:
| Eight or Joker (wild) | 50 |
| King, Queen, Jack | 10 |
| Ace | 1 |
| All other cards | face value |
Hands keep going until someone reaches the target score — that player wins the match.
Good to know
- If the stock runs out, it's rebuilt from the discard pile so play can continue.
- If both players get stuck, the hand is blocked and the smaller hand wins the difference.
- The gear sets the difficulty, the target score, and whether jokers are in the deck.
Tip: save your eights and jokers for when you're stuck or about to go out — a wild lets you dodge a suit you can't match and swing the suit to one you hold.
